Empowering Youth Through Technology

To ensure children, young adults, and adults in minority communities have access to programs, resources, and apprenticeships that prepare them to navigate today’s world and beyond. We provide opportunities to learn and develop skills in industries and trades that are rapidly growing or fading away, with a specific focus on driving youth towards careers in technology.

Objectives:

  • Educational Opportunities: Offering three programs structured within science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, coding, and design (STEAM C+D), we provide a console and PC gaming, music, and theater program. In addition, we offer black history, financial literacy, etiquette, and parenting classes with a goal to empower minority communities.
  • Apprenticeships: Providing apprenticeships in shoe repair, videography, graphic design, furniture configuration and design, with a strong emphasis on technology.
  • Partnerships: Continuously expanding partnerships with organizations and industry leaders to enhance support through volunteering and financial assistance particularly for initiatives driving youth towards technology careers.
  • Advocacy: Advocating for accurate representation of minorities in higher education, entrepreneurship, leadership roles, and specifically in technology-related careers across America.

By 2025, it’s reasonable to anticipate that Generation Z’s (born:  1997-2013) representation in the workforce could increase significantly, potentially approaching or surpassing 25%, as more of this generation graduates from educational institutions and enters full-time employment. This increase will also be influenced by the ongoing demographic shift and the natural progression of older generations out of the workforce.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across sectors—from machinery and robotics to mobile assistance—is reshaping the future of virtually every industry and individual. AI serves as a key driver of emerging technologies, such as big data, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). By 2030, technology’s ubiquity will necessitate current awareness and engagement to ensure a smooth transition into future advancements.
By 2032, people of color are anticipated to become the majority within the American working class, according to projections based on labor force trends from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and educational attainment by race and ethnicity. This shift is expected to occur 11 years prior to the U.S. Census Bureau’s forecast for the overall U.S. population, which predicts a majority-minority shift by 2043.
